Paolo Cascone Paolo Cascone, born in Naples and grew up between East-Africa and West-Indies, is an AA-trained architect. He started his research on environmental parametric design during his Master (EE) at the Architectural Association while he achieved a PhD in environmental engineering at the University of Rome. In the last years Paolo has been researching and working to develop an interdisciplinary design methodology in the field of ecologic design. This approach is based on a morphogenetic design process in which the cause-effect relationship between form and performance structures each project in a site-specific way. Paolo founded CodesignLab [architecture and design research lab] in Paris in 2007 and prior to this he worked for international firms in London, Milan and Paris. He is actively involved in research and education, teaching design studio at ESA (Ecole Speciale d’ Architecture) in Paris as Associate Professor and regularly lecturing on his work and research in schools of architecture around Europe.
